An Ideal Syllabus II programme offers artistic and professional development to young people living in Milton Keynes studying at 6th form level. Throughout the summer months, a programme of lectures, presentations, workshops and gallery visits will prepare participants for the next steps in higher education, with focus on careers in the arts.

Heritage Craft Workshops with young people from Milton Keynes
January 2017 – July 2017
Milton Keynes Arts Centre invited students from Stantonbury Campus, Two Mile Ash School, Denbigh School and The Walnuts School to participate in a six-month collaborative heritage craft project with artisan designers and makers; Rob Shaer, Blackhorse Workshops, Abigail Booth and Max Bainbridge, Forest + Found, Felicity Irons, Rush Matters and Alissa Pemberton, Forest & Folk Botanicals. Inside Out Kitchen explores ideas of what a kitchen is, could be, and its communal role as a space for bringing communities together.

Artists collaborate with adults and young people from Milton Keynes communities; MacIntyre, MK Snap, Open Door, Pritchard Court and The Walnuts School, in a series of textile and ceramic workshops inspired by the heritage of Milton Keynes Arts Centre’s unique location.
