Using creativity to change and enrich the lives of Milton Keynes communities.
An Arts Centre that is future-looking, dynamic and fleet-footed: co-designing and delivering ambitious and high-quality arts events and activities with Milton Keynes artists and communities in their spaces and on their terms in order to:
1. Inspire and bring moments of joy to Milton Keynes’ residents by enabling them to realise their own creative potential.
2. Be fully inclusive and diverse, actively seeking to address potential barriers to engagement in the arts in order to ensure people from all backgrounds feel welcome and represented in everything we do.
3. Encourage pride in place by celebrating the distinctiveness of Milton Keynes’ social, natural, and built environment through art.
4. Build, connect and revitalise communities in Milton Keynes through place-based and collaborative approaches to creative programming.
5. Position artists at the heart of our work, connecting them with communities across MiltonKeynes, promoting opportunities for skills development and employment, supporting risk-taking and celebrating innovation.
6. And to do the above in ways that promote ethical and sustainable practices, pointing the way to a better shared future.

In 1974 MKAC became an Arts Centre and registered charity, nurturing arts, culture and wellbeing in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. Past fundraisers have supported MKAC to provide opportunities for our communities to benefit from arts and culture. These communities have included local schools; young people with special education and behavioural needs; homeless charities; and individuals with diverse physical and learning needs.

Milton Keynes Arts Centre uses creativity to change and enrich the lives of Milton Keynes communities. We are an inclusive charity that co-develops Artist Projects with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Through our work we aim to provide:
– a space that is inclusive of people from all backgrounds;
– that does not tolerate any behaviour or actions that are disrespectful of others;
– that makes space for others to join the conversation;
– and stands up against intolerance;
– to make MKAC a safe and strong community;
– in which equality and respect is demanded for ourselves and others.
