Hærvest

Hærvest was the culmination of all of the wonderful events which have been taking place over the last year as part of the Bradwell Windmill Project as well as an exploration of traditional folk culture's ways of celebrating the Harvest!

We welcomed over 200 people to the Windmill site to celebrate the history of the Windmill, the hopes for its future and explore the way Harvest celebartions around the world can bring communities together.

We were join by the incredible New Bradwell Brass Band, Rapaskallion Morris and Bhangra One who shared music and dance with us all. Crafts were hosted by Robin Clements and Sarah Hunt who led the community in harvest crown making and traditional straw craft.

Central to the celebration was our Hærvest Table. A beautiful display of crafts made by local residents in the lead up to the event, this included hand embroidered napkins, naturally dyed table cloths, beeswax dipped candles and scraffito decorated platters. We were also kindly loaned a Didukh by the Ukraine Appeal.

To top it all off the day culminated in the wonderful Harvest Crown parade!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to make Hærvest such a memorable occasion!
