Established in 1974, Milton Keynes Arts Centre (MKAC) is a multidisciplinary arts centre set in the historic grounds of Great Linford Manor Park and a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England. We specialise in co-developing projects with artists and communities in MiltonKeynes that respond to the issues affecting people’s lives and help to empower often marginalised communities in the city. Alongside these projects, we provide opportunities for people to engage in participatory activities, acquire new skills through working with artists, and support health and well-being.
We are seeking a Programming & Participation Manager to oversee the research, planning and delivery of all of MKAC’s artists’ projects, events and participatory activities. The successful candidate will be a creative, collaborative and inspirational programmer, experienced in working with artists and a range of partners to deliver high quality, open access and co-produced projects - combining hands-on, practical coordination with risk management.
The successful candidate will have strong financial and administrative skills, including experience in fundraising. They will be able to set targets and monitor financial performance as well as collect audience data. They will play a key role in developing relationships with artists, the education sector, external companies and community groups and will have a flexible approach to working, including a willingness to work unsociable hours.
This is an exciting, challenging and varied post at MKAC, with plenty of opportunity to innovate in partnership with communities in Milton Keynes.
MKAC treats all job applicants equally, regardless of class, age, disability, gender identity or gender expression, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation or any other equality characteristic. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented in the cultural sector.
